Australia: Processing of Australian visa applications from the Philippines

Here is some good news for our friends from the Philippines!

The Office of the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection has provided the following information on special processing arrangements for applications from the Philippines:

The Government is very mindful of the tragedy unfolding in the Philippines and the department is working collaboratively with all agencies at Post to casino online provide urgent visa services as may be required by any Philippine nationals with a clear and demonstrated need to enter Australia.

Special arrangements have been put in place to ensure applications from affected areas are quickly identified and the need for priority processing is assessed. Any Philippine citizen currently in Australia whose visa is due to expire should contact the department for information on applying to extend their stay. This is in keeping with longstanding practice.

Applications from those affected by Typhoon Haiyan will be considered on compassionate grounds. The measures taken to respond to the situation in the Philippines do not include the creation of additional or new visa subclasses.
