Rwanda grants 90-day visa-free entry to Filipinos
MANILA – Filipinos have been granted visa-free entry to the central African country of Rwanda, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday said.
Rwanda now allows visa-free entry for Filipino nationals for a maximum of 90 days.
The visa-free grant has been effective since November 2017, the DFA said in an advisory.
“The said visa-free entry for Filipinos was granted by Rwanda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and East African Community on the basis of reciprocity,” the DFA said.
Rwandan nationals enjoy visa-free entry to the Philippines for a maximum of 30 days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey or their next port of destination.
The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya currently oversees the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Rwanda.
Earlier this month, Passport Index 2018 raised the rank of the Philippine passport to 67th from 66th last year.
