Taiwan offers visa-free entry for qualified PH passport

MANILA – The Republic of China (Taiwan) is now offering visa-free entry for Filipinos who have previously visited selected countries.

The announcement was posted in the official website of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Phillippines.

According to the statement, Filipinos who have been issued an entry visa to Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States may apply for visa exemption.

Those who also have a valid resident or permanent resident card from said countries may also enter Taiwan without a visa.

Applicants only need to apply for an exemption authorization certificate online. They should have return air or ferry ticket and should have never been employed as a blue-collar worker in Taiwan to be eligible for visa exemption.
